CBLA organizes a variety of professional, networking, and social events for its members and friends, including:
Each quarter CBLA aims to co-host a large-scale professional panel discussion with a major law firm in New York to address hottest topics in the Chinese and U.S. legal and business community. Our past co-sponsors include Crowell & Moring, DLA Piper, Goodwin Procter, Kirkland & Ellis, Morrison & Foerster, Sidley Austin, Skadden, and Vinson & Elkins. Our seminars cover a wide ranges of topics, including trade, M&A, antitrust, capital market, IP, litigation, and tax.
The Fireside Chat Program is a series of small group discussions on various business law topics, designed to bring together our members and expert speakers in more intimate settings. In the past, many prominent experts in legal and business fields have spoken on various topics, including restructuring, investment, M&A, derivatives, and career development.
CBLA organizes frequent social and networking events for its members and friends to mingle, learn and have fun together. Our past social and networking events included cocktail receptions, Karaoke, tea party, gallery talks, and outings. We also hold annual holiday dinner banquet at Chinese New Year.
CBLA provides various channels to help law students and young professionals advance their careers. We have co-sponsored events with institutions such as New York University School of Law and Columbia Law School in the past. Our Mentorship Program provides a more intimate small-group setting to meet our young members' and friends' individual needs.
